Sunset Chatters

I watched the sunset as I heard the usual chatter.

A bunch of crows speak their heart out to each other, cawing with excitement, as if telling a story of how their day went.

Speaking in a crowd, chatting over a fetched ‘murukku’ thrown on the verandah by the old aunty next door, the meeting was filled with life.

I listened in to each of the crows cawing with their own frequency. No one to judge, no one to label them.

Wonder if we humans are blessed. We speak. We express. But at the cost of consequences. Birds are better off…they speak out…they sing, they scream, they too have sad days….but the best part…..they don’t have a Twitter blue judging them. They don’t have a pink Instagram trolling them for being so vocal.

I wish I was a bird, free to fly, free to speak, and live without the fear of being judged or labelled…

They say be yourself….but they also don’t let you be yourself…

Such is the irony of human life…….a life that usually ends in a dilemma of ‘to be or not to be’….
